POSITION SUMMARY

The Youth Pastor (YP) for Redeemer s is devoted to helping students in the 6th-12th grade to fearlessly follow Jesus. By teaching the truth of God s Word and being culturally relevant, the YP reaches young people through dynamic weekly experiences, small groups, special events and serving opportunities. The YP invites, trains, and equips teams of adult volunteers and student leaders for maximum ministry impact. The YP creates a ministry culture of laughter, fun, and connection as young people are led to Christ and discipled. With a whatever it takes mentality, the YP provides leadership that models a life of Christ-like integrity for students and parents alike.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop a comprehensive and strategic approach to student ministry that aligns with the vision and values of Redeemer s Oversee weekly youth worship experiences that include music, teaching, and group elements along with mid-week programming Motivate and inspire adults and student leaders to serve on ministry teams that provide direct ministry to students of all ages and stages of faith Provide training and resources for volunteers to serve following the ITAFERR model Establish a high-energy ministry calendar that includes outreach events, camps/retreats, and fun activities Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and serve in the church where called upon Be a team player who collaborates with all ministries during weekend experiences Create partnerships and outreach opportunities with local schools where possible Co-lead the Kids and Youth Team Develop and manage a youth ministry budget and maintain church database pertaining to youth department Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS

Has made a commitment to be a member of the body of Christ at Redeemer s A mature, growing, wholehearted follower of Christ, with a clear understanding of the Gospel and an ability to communicate it well Commitment to the Elders, Lead Team, and the community of Redeemer s Undergraduate degree preferred One to three years youth ministry experience preferred Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written); self-starter, teachable, energetic, organized Awesome at communicating and relating to others, especially young people and their parents Knowledgeable in student ministries with at least two years of significant experience Proficient at using social media for effective communication and outreach Desire to grow as a spiritual leader, Bible teacher, and be hungry for development
