- Pastoral counseling or hospice chaplaincy training is preferred. At least three (3) years' experience in pastoral care/counseling, or four units of clinical pastoral education post masters.
- Possesses in- depth knowledge of pastoral theology and ability to integrate same with good pastoral counseling skills.

Part-time, 24 hours/week Reports to: Program Director/Psychosocial Manager Caring Hospice Services provides compassionate, patient-centered hospice services in the community and in patients' homes. We believe in supporting patients and their families not only physically, but also emotionally and spiritually, through every stage of care.Position Summary:
The Chaplain/Spiritual Counselor provides spiritual and emotional support to hospice patients, their families, and members of the care team. This role is essential in offering comfort during illness, at the time of death, and through the bereavement period.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct spiritual counseling and support in line with patients' and families' beliefs.
- Collaborate with staff, clergy, and community groups to address spiritual concerns.
- Participate in interdisciplinary group (IDG) meetings to assess and report on spiritual needs.
- Provide bereavement follow-up services as assigned.
- Maintain accurate visit records and documentation.
- Perform or assist with memorial services, funerals, and other spiritual events as requested.
- Coordinate with community clergy and maintain a network of resources.
- Arrange for on-call spiritual care coverage.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited seminary or school of theology or certified in hospital/pastoral ministry.
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a chaplain/spiritual counselor (preferred).
- Ability to work independently and respond to crises outside hospital settings.
- Sensitivity to diverse social, cultural, and religious backgrounds.
- Active patient contact within the last 3 years preferred.
- Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
Physical & Work Environment:
- Requires minimal physical exertion; occasional lifting/transfer of up to 100 lbs with assistance.
- Exposure to varied home environments, including odors and bodily fluids.
- Must provide annual TB test and other state-required health clearances.
