Director of Youth Ministries Faith Church Kingstowne Alexandria, VA Job Details Part-time $20 - $38 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Vision insurance Flexible schedule Qualifications Teamwork Interpersonal skills Volunteer management Working with students Full Job Description Job Summary Faith Church Kingstowne is a growing, gospel-centered church in Alexandria, Virginia, seeking a Youth Director to lead and strengthen our ministry to middle school and high school students. We are looking for a spiritually mature, relational, organized, and energetic leader who loves students, enjoys building relationships with families, and can create a welcoming environment where teenagers are known, encouraged, discipled, and challenged to grow in their faith. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a joyful, Christ-centered youth ministry (of approximately 25 students) in a church that is experiencing growth and seeking to invest deeply in the next generation. What You'll Do
  • Lead and strengthen the youth ministry for middle school and high school students.
  • Create a welcoming, fun, safe, and gospel-centered environment where students are known, loved, and discipled.
  • Plan and lead regular youth gatherings that include biblical teaching, discussion, prayer, fellowship, games, and relationship-building.
  • Teach or coordinate teaching that is faithful to Scripture, engaging for students, and aligned with the mission and theology of Faith Church Kingstowne.
  • Build meaningful relationships with students through consistent presence, encouragement, and pastoral care.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and help encourage families in the discipleship of their teenagers.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and encourage adult volunteers who serve with the youth ministry.
  • Plan, coordinate and chaperone youth events, service opportunities, retreats, outreach opportunities, and fellowship gatherings throughout the year.
  • Work with church leadership to help students become connected to the broader life of the church.
  • Maintain high standards of safety and care, including compliance with Ministry Safe policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with church leadership to align Youth Ministry with the overall mission of the church. What We're Looking For
  • A clear and growing personal faith in Jesus Christ.
  • A genuine love for teenagers and a desire to help them grow as lifelong disciples of Jesus.
  • A positive, welcoming, and engaging personality.
  • Strong relational, communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to recruit, train, schedule, and motivate volunteers.
  • Experience working with students in a ministry, educational, coaching, mentoring, or related setting.
  • Ability to teach Scripture clearly, faithful, engaging, and applicable to students.
  • Comfortable communicating with parents and partnering with families.
  • Comfortable in a digital world, including email, social media, video, content management, database management, and Planning Center Online.
  • Prefer at least 3 years of leadership or management experience in a church, school, nonprofit, coaching, or professional environment.
  • A teachable, flexible, team-oriented spirit.
  • Agreement with and support of the mission, values, and theological commitments of Faith Church Kingstowne.
  • Become a member of Faith Church, engaged in the life of the church. Schedule and Weekly Rhythm
  • Approximately 3-5 hours per week preparing teaching, discussion questions, games, activities, and youth ministry programming.
  • Approximately 2-3 hours per week leading the regular youth gathering or student ministry environment.
  • Approximately 2-4 hours per week communicating with parents, following up with students, coordinating volunteers, and planning upcoming ministry needs.
  • Approximately 2-4 additional hours per week planning and coordinating monthly youth events, outreach opportunities, service projects, or fellowship gatherings.
  • Participation in a monthly Children, Youth, and Families committee meeting.
  • Occasional participation in church-wide events, retreats, special services, or seasonal ministry opportunities.
