Youth Ministry Fellow (2026-2027 Year) 9000 Concord Road, Brentwood, TN 37027 $20 an hour - Part-time $20 an hour - Part-time East Brentwood Presbyterian ChurchYouth Ministry Fellow (2026-2027 Year) Part‑Time | Sunday Mornings + Select Events Position Summary The Youth Ministry Fellow supports ministry with students in 6th-12th grade , helping create a welcoming, spiritually grounded, and developmentally appropriate environment for youth. This role blends relationship‑building, program leadership, and hands‑on ministry experience. Fellow should bring energy, enthusiasm, a love for God, and a love for youth. The position will start August 1st. What We're Looking For Experience working with youth (6th grade and up) in church, camp, school, or similar settings Ability to engage in age‑appropriate conversations , including sensitive topics, with maturity and care Completion of sexual abuse prevention training (or willingness to complete before start date) Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain) A sense of play that is fun, relational, and age‑appropriate Comfort talking about faith, consistent with the expectation that leaders be "comfortable talking about his/her own faith and faith issues." A dependable, warm presence who can build trust with students and families Primary Responsibilities Weekly Ministry Serve every Sunday morning (9:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m.) with youth Help implement weekly programming as part of a team, reflecting the expectation to "help implement programs along with other adults and youth on a weekly basis." Maintain appropriate relational boundaries and confidentiality, consistent with the guideline to "maintain confidentiality unless there's a threat to self or others." Retreats & Trips Participate in a Fall NaCoMe weekend retreat Attend one major summer experience: mission trip or Montreat Youth Conference Serve as a chaperone and adult friend during church sponsored events Relational Ministry Build relationships with youth through presence, conversation, and encouragement Take initiative to reach out to youth (texts, check‑ins, invitations) Help create an environment of trust, support, and fellowship Teamwork & Communication Meet regularly with the Coordinator of Chidren, Youth, and Family Ministries for coordination and support Collaborate with staff and volunteers Attend occasional planning meetings as needed Accountability & Relationships Reports directly to the Coordinator of Children, Youth, and Family Ministries Works collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and families Serves youth as an adult friend and role model, not a peer
Time Commitment Weekly:
Sunday mornings, plus planning and preparation time (

3-6 hours per week)

NaCoMe retreat weekend
Summer:
Mission trip or Montreat Occasional planning meetings or special events Attendance Summer Youth Ministry Fellow are expected to be consistent in their attendance, and necessary arrangements shall be made with the Coordinator of Children, Youth, and Family Ministries when absence will occur due to sickness, vacation, etc., with as much notice as possible. Evaluation Performance reviews will be conducted during the internship to provide feedback on gifts, skills, and growth areas, consistent with the evaluation practices described in the summer intern role.
