PRINCIPLE/PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Children's Pastor will lead a young generation that will walk in greater levels of praise, power, purity and prayer than the generation before them. As a result, a strategy is formed for birth - 5th grade to reach their full potential in the Kingdom of God. The church will partner with the home for the formation of this young generation. With age appropriate teaching and guidance, we equip our children and families to walk in fullness of the power of God.
Duties/Areas of Responsibility:
The following responsibilities can serve as a excellent guideline, not an extensive and/or exhaustive "list". Oversee all age levels of children from birth to 5th grade. Direct management of GKIDS volunteers and volunteer scheduling: (nursery, preschool, elementary). Manage Orange curriculum and continue to coordinate weekend and mid-week service experiences. (First Look, 252 Basics,) Utilize Orange Curriculum to its fullest capacity.
Ex:
Social Media, Take Home, Website. Coordinate extra curricular Family Ministry Events.
Ex:
Fall Fest, Easter, Christmas a Community Outreach. Engagement with parents for spiritual development of family outside of Sunday services. Ensure safety of children while on campus or attending church related functions using security, check in process and background checks. Development of Special Needs programming as needed. Must possess vision, passion, energy and zeal for children ages birth-5th grade. Must possess high standards for clean, children's environments.
Spiritual/Personal Requirements:
Already possess and/or have a strong desire to develop a lifestyle of "closet" and "corporate" prayer life, agreement of doctrinal statements of The Gathering and recognize the call to vocational ministry for The Kingdom within a church context. Maintain and balance priorities in life (if applicable): 1. Jesus 2. Spouse 3. Children 4. Ministry. Family must be supportive of your call to The Gathering Church. A strong desire/willingness to protect and further build the UNITY of The Kingdom and The Gathering Church. Must be a member of The Gathering Church. Desire to live in such a way that others would want your relationship with The Father. Faithfulness and loyalty to The Gathering's vision, senior pastor and staff at The Gathering is of utmost importance. Must maintain a positive attitude and team spirit, avoiding criticism of the senior pastor, staff and church members. Live a generous financial lifestyle. We believe one of the "best kept secrets" is the tithe. We often refer to giving as "spirit giving". (2 Corinthians 9:7) Must be adaptable to culture of the church.
Specific Requirements To Fulfill Job:
Bachelor's degree or Ministry related equivalent (i.e. Ministry School, experience, etc). Demonstrate the ability to recruit, train and coach in area of ministry.
Self-Starter:
requires minimal management with a ability to be further developed Create and maintain an annual budget for the ministry area assigned.
General Requirements:
Possess organizational skills, communication skills and conflict resolution skills. Must possess and/or develop the ability to "switch gears" on short notice and embrace flexibility. Be an encourager of people and demonstrate social awareness. Meet as needed with the Senior Pastor and Direct Supervisor providing staff and organization updates. Continually strive to seek education and training opportunities. Must develop the habit of reading material appropriate to your ministry and seek leadership-training opportunities. Exercise tact, courtesy and diplomacy in dealing with guests and church members, as well as the outside community. Must possess ability to manage self, time and projects with minimal supervision/coaching. Special Notes for ALL employees of

Þ If questions arise that are not covered by the job description, be sure to secure the proper answer from the Executive Pastor and/or equivalent supervisor. It is far better to ask than to make unnecessary mistakes. Þ All employees are expected to attend weekend worship services, small groups and special events as asked and events related to your particular ministry. The Gathering is a team-oriented church. It is critical for all employees to support the overall ministry and to see their individual ministry as a part of a greater, unified cause. We are not "silos". Þ Employees should refer to the Personnel Policy Manual and the Doctrinal Statement Form for questions regarding employment, vacations, sick leave, office procedures, employment termination policies and doctrinal statements. Þ Employee compensation will be determined by the following factors: position, staff-level (i.e., Executive level, Director level) and recommendations by the Senior Pastor, Executive Pastor and Leadership team, as well as performance reviews. Þ 90 day review and Yearly evaluations
