Provides pastoral care and/or counseling to Associates and Medical Staff. Contributes to the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program. Provides educational resources for area churches, clergy and community organizations. Demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities for self-development and enhancement of professional competency. Performs other job functions as assigned or requested. • IC•Board of Chaplaincy Certification Incorporated Commission Preferred•Board Certified Catholic Chaplain•National Association of Catholic Chaplains Preferred•Board Certified Jewish Chaplain•National Association of Jewish Chaplains Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Skill and proficiency in applying advanced concepts, principles, and professional techniques in the field of chaplaincy.

Ability to listen, understand, and minister to the specific spiritual needs of persons in crisis. Knowledge of community clergy relationships, sacramental ministry, and pastoral roles as acquired through three years experience in local church ministry. Functional knowledge of the religious principles of major faiths. Ability to work effectively with persons of diverse religious, cultural, and racial backgrounds. Supervision Provided by this Position Lead responsibilities may be assigned to this position as designated by the Director of the Spiritual Care Department, Mission Integration Division. Physical Demands Position requires regular on-call responsibility. Possible exposure to body fluids as well as hazardous and poisonous materials. Ability to react in emergency situations. Occasional travel to other facilities. Possible exposure to infectious diseases. The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
