Job Summary Wesley Methodist Church | Beaumont, Texas Wesley Methodist Church is seeking a gifted and Spirit-led Worship Leader to guide our congregation in authentic, heartfelt worship at our 9am contemporary service. This is more than a musical gig - it is an opportunity to worship and lead others in worship. We are looking for someone who understands that worship is the work of the whole people of God, and who has the skill and the heart to draw a congregation into that work week after week. Duties Lead the congregation in Spirit-filled, musically excellent worship each Sunday at the 9am contemporary service and at occasional designated special events Curate song selections that are theologically grounded, accessible to a broad congregation, and aligned with the sermon series, liturgical season, and Wesleyan theological tradition Collaborate closely with the senior pastor and ministry staff to ensure worship and proclamation flow together as a unified whole Build, develop, and shepherd the contemporary worship team — vocalists, instrumentalists, and tech volunteers — through regular rehearsals, coaching, and encouragement Create an atmosphere in which every person in the room — longtime member and first-time guest alike — feels invited to participate fully in worship Oversee the practical dimensions of the worship ministry: rehearsal scheduling, song library organization, chord charts, and care of sound and music equipment Requirements Demonstrated experience leading contemporary worship in a church setting Musical proficiency on at least one primary instrument (guitar or keys preferred), with strong vocal leadership Genuine Christian faith and a personal commitment to spiritual formation and discipleship Comfort with and appreciation for the Wesleyan tradition, including its emphasis on congregational singing, grace, and holiness Collaborative spirit and the ability to work well with pastoral staff, volunteers, and a diverse congregation Organizational reliability — prepared, on time, and consistent Flexibility to serve at special services, seasonal events, and occasional additional gatherings as needed About Wesley Methodist Church Wesley Methodist Church is a congregation of the Global Methodist Church located in Beaumont, Texas.
