In this highly visible, fast-paced, and challenging position, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide the very best care for our patients. The Chaplain Fellow is to provide pastoral care to patients, families and staff in an assigned clinical area and throughout the hospital.
Your Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree, Masters of Theology or Equivalent, or in the process of obtaining a Master's Degree
- Minimum of 4 completed units of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE preferred)
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
Your Job Responsibilities:
.
- Participates in the ministry of the department by providing spiritual care and emotional support to patients and families through regular rounding, clinical assignments and responding to all hospital codes.
- Provides grief support and counseling as appropriate to deceased's family and friends.
- Participates in the ministry of the department by facilitating, documenting and coordinating decedent care in collaboration with multiple hospital units.
- Provide staff support through regular rounding, organized support programs, and critical incident debriefings.
- Coordinates and facilitates release and transport of deceased bodies to appropriate agency.
- Assists in locating and contacting next of kin for patients arriving in ED via ambulance.
- Collaborates with local religious leaders, visiting clergy, chaplain volunteers, and spiritual caregivers.
- Participates in other pastoral and administrative duties as assigned under the direction of the clinical manager.
