SPR Committee and the
Lead Pastor Primary Responsibility:
The Church Coordinator assists in management of daily operations, organizes events, schedules services, and facilitates communication between staff, volunteers, and the congregation to support the vision and mission of Dayspring Methodist Church.
General Information:
Full-Time, Sunday-Thursday work week.

1. Have a personal faith in Jesus Christ and be committed to Christ as Savior and Lord. 2. Nurture and cultivate spiritual disciplines and patterns of holiness consistent with the General Rules, including responsible self-control by exhibiting personal habits that are conducive to bodily health, mental and emotional maturity, integrity in all relationships, fidelity in a Christian marriage between one man and one woman, chastity in singleness, social responsibility, and the knowledge and love of God. 3. Have a call by God and the people of God to devote themselves to the work of ministry. 4. Be able to effectively communicate the Christian faith. 5. Effectively partner with the Lead Pastor in a humble and collaborative manner in order to help the church thrive. 6. Lead with humility and a genuine desire to nurture team unity 7. Accept the authority of Scripture; be competent in the disciplines of Scripture, theology, church history and polity; possess the skills essential for the practice of ministry, and lead in making disciples of Jesus Christ.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Calendaring 1.
Manage the church wide calendar for all church wide services and events 2. Assist staff in effectively planning for and scheduling services and events 3. Ensure all services and events are up-to-date across all utilized calendars (Planning Center, website, bulletin, social media) 4. Plan for "seasons of focus" to happen appropriately in the calendar of the church -
Stephen Ministry, Re:
Engage, VBS, etc.
  • Communication 1.
Maintain the Dayspring website so it is up-to-date, accurate, and user friendly (work with graphic designer and or website designer - as needed) 2. Create and implement church wide communication plans - emails, social media, etc. 3. Communicate with staff when they are unable to attend meetings so they are aware of meeting agenda and know what is needed for upcoming services and events in the life of the church
  • Mission, Vision and Goals 1. Ensure that Dayspring's Mission and Vision remain at the forefront of planning and decision making 2. Work with staff and committees to create and plan for short-term and long-term goals to advance the mission of Dayspring 3. Protect the resources of the church in order to avoid mission drift and potential staff burnout
  • Sunday Mornings 1.
Work with the Lead Pastor and Worship Director to plan the order of service 2. Ensure that graphics to be used for worship are accurate and include everything that needs to be announced 3. Coordinate and execute the Sunday morning worship experience, specifically working with Lead Pastor and directors to make improvements and correct problems 4. Coordinate physical needs for special aspects of worship ministry (ex: baptismal setup, cross for Easter, communion dates for bread and juice to be ordered)
  • Staff 1. Collaborate with Lead Pastor to plan and schedule staff retreats, conferences, and outings 2. Support staff in identifying and participating in professional development 3. Serve as a resource and an accountability partner for staff - working to ensure that the ongoing needs of the church are met. This individual serves as a helping hand in all ministries in order to foster excellence.
Other:
1. Address concerns of congregation members through regular communication via text, phone call, email, teleconference, and social media 2. Prospect for candidates for the Nominations and Leadership Development Committee 3. Work with the Stephen Ministry coordinator to celebrate and equip Stephen Ministers 4.
Facility Scheduling:
coordinate the usage of church facilities for various groups and events with staff 5. Responsible for the management and congregational implementation of the Church database. (Planning Center) Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree - communications, administration, theology, or business preferred
  • Experience in a ministry leadership position
  • Bear fruit in pursuit of holiness and godly leadership, outlined in ¶505 of the Global Methodist Book of Doctrines and Discipline Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Willingness to learn and align with the Mission, Values and Strategies of Dayspring
  • A committed Christian who is willing to be an active participant in the life of Dayspring
  • This role requires strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Technologically Proficiency:
experience with Microsoft and apple office programs, church management software (Planning Center) and online, social media or AV tools. Computer skills will be evaluated prior to hiring
  • Graphic design experience preferred
  • Ability to exhibit leadership and management skills involving diverse teams
  • Experienced in team building, conflict management, and effective communication
  • Effective communicator (verbal and written)
  • Flexible and creative problem solver who humbly and gently navigates conflict and nurtures the well-being of the team over one's personal interests
