Hours:

Part-time (20 hours/week, hours may vary week to week but will average 20 hours per week over the course of a month)

Salary:

$20,000 - $25,000 (commensurate with education and experience), with one week vacation

General Description:

The Youth Director will be responsible for leading, developing, and engaging youth (7th-12th grades) in a vibrant and faith-affirming ministry, fostering their spiritual growth, and preparing them to live out their faith in the world. This position will involve planning and implementing youth events, leading Bible studies, providing spiritual guidance, and partnering with parents and church leadership to create a supportive network for the spiritual growth of youth.

Qualifications:

• Born-again Christian, baptized, and growing follower of Jesus Christ.
• High school graduate.
• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in student ministry and/or a calling to youth ministry.
• Experience in youth ministry (volunteer or paid).
• Demonstrate the ability to soundly interpret and teach Scripture, especially in the context of engaging students.
• Demonstrate competency in basic computer and technology skills, including word processing, email, texting, and social media.
• Ability to work well with church staff, church leadership, and parents.
• Other skills and spiritual gifts that can be used to enhance overall church life are a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, lead, and teach Bible lessons with the youth during Sunday evenings.
• Seek to lead unsaved youth to salvation faith in Jesus as Savior and Lord.
• Help develop youth in their Christian lives and sharing their faith through fellowship activities, service projects, and evangelistic outreach/mission trips.
• Encourage youth to actively participate in the life and worship of the church.
• Enlist, train, and coordinate volunteers as assistants in the youth ministry.
• Meet with youth ministry volunteers to plan events, discuss goals, pray, and encourage one another.
• Ensure all activities comply with church safety and child protection policies.
• Develop relationships with the parents to partner with them in the spiritual growth of their youth.
• Maintain effective communication with parents, students, and church leadership, including in-person communication and social media.
• Collaborate with children's ministry leaders to help in transition from childhood to youth ministry.
• Preach on Sunday morning as opportunities arise, if feel called to preaching ministry.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor that are relevant to church life and ministry.

Expectations:

• Meet with the Pastor weekly for encouragement, accountability, and discipleship.
• Be a regular attender/member of Suck Spring Baptist Church.
• Align with the beliefs and values of the church's Constitution, Statement of Faith, and Bylaws.
• Give a report on the Youth Ministry at the church's monthly business meetings.
• Attend and participate in church-wide planning when applicable.
• Agree to submit to criminal history background check.

: The Youth Director position is subject to a 90‑day probationary period, during which the Pastor and church leadership will evaluate spiritual leadership, job performance, and alignment with church values and expectations. Continued employment following this period is contingent upon satisfactory performance.

Pay:

$20,000.00 - $25,000.00 per year
