He will seek, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to interpret the Word of God to the Church through his sermons, his teachings, and personal counseling. He will give special care to the sick and homebound. Gethsemane Baptist Church, established in 1963, is located in Richlands, Virginia, a town of approximately 5,000 residents, in the beautiful mountains of southwestern Virginia. Our church facilities include a 225-seat sanctuary, a large fellowship hall and kitchen, a Family Life Center (constructed in 2014), and a parsonage (which is currently being refurbished). GBC has an active WMU, Brotherhood, Deacon Family Ministry, Youth Ministry, and JOY Club for Kids. Many opportunities to serve God and build community are provided.
