$18.00 - $24.00 Summary/Objective Under the direction of the Campus Pastor, the Children's Ministry Director is responsible for ensuring the spiritual growth and development of elementary-aged children. This includes teaching, volunteer recruitment and development, classroom management, reaching parents and custodians of elementary children, and operational management as necessary to ensure impactful Weekend Gatherings for children's services (LCKids) and periodic special events. Supervisory Responsibility The Children's Ministry Director is responsible for the recruitment, selection, and training of volunteers as well as team development. Responsibilities Coordinate LCKids Early Childhood (Toddlers/Pre School) ministry at the Rainier campus, including overseeing Early Childhood curriculum planning (lessons, activities, crafts, room schedule) weekly and reviews in advance with staff and volunteers. Collaborate with supervisor to ensure expenditure is within budget. Purchase necessary supplies for Early Childhood classes and restock as necessary (snacks, supplies, etc.). Ensure classes are ready for use, including equipment, toys, and furniture are in working order, up to date, and meet the needs of the children and staff Implement the recruitment, training, and scheduling of volunteers as needed to staff LCKids Early Childhood classrooms and assist with special events. May lead a volunteer team under the direction of the Campus Pastor. Train staff and volunteers in the areas of safety, cleaning, and sanitization. Communicate with supervisor regarding the overall effectiveness and health of the Early Childhood program. Participation in "All-Staff Meetings," as well as called departmental meetings, and other required staff events. Other reasonable duties as requested and assigned. Demonstrates strong emotional intelligence and conflict resolution skills. Anticipates ministry needs and implements proactive improvements. Models integrity, accountability, and servant leadership. Applies advanced proficiency in ministry systems and data tools to manage people and ministry outcomes. Embody the staff attributes as listed in the Little Book of Life Center. Proficient level written & verbal interpersonal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with young children and their parents/caregivers. Passion for teaching children about God. Compliant with Life Center's Policies and Practices, including but not limited to Employee Handbook and Safety Manual. Education, Experience, Certifications and Licensure High School diploma or equivalent. Associate Degree, Certificate, or current enrollment in related program of study a plus. 1 year of administrative or related experience required. 1 year of prior ministry experience with children and young families, or the equivalent. Physical Demands Stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time as required by job. Ability to lift and carry objects weighing 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch to perform tasks in various environments. Ability to talk and hear, reach, and grasp, see and adjust visual focus. Must be able to communicate with people both over the phone and in person. Work Environment and Travel This job operates in a professional office and ministry environment. This role routinely interacts with staff, volunteers, and guests. The primary campus location for this role: Rainier Local travel may be required occasionally for All Staff Meetings. Hours and Schedule Full Time:
33+ hours per week, which includes: Sunday morning Gatherings. Four days during the Monday through Friday work week window, primarily during the hours of 8:30am - 5:00pm. Requires occasional evening and weekend work pertaining to ministry's needs and events which occur in the evenings or on weekends. Attendance at the following staff meetings is required for this role: Reset, Annual Meeting, any required staff training, recurring meetings as required, and additional meetings as requested.
