Alcott, a leading nonprofit agency dedicated to providing vital mental health and supportive housing services to low-income adults across Los Angeles County, is seeking a compassionate and dependable Residential Aide to join our ODR Interim Housing team. DOE What You'll Do:
The Impact You'll Make As a Residential Aide, you will provide compassionate support to residents while maintaining a safe, welcoming environment. You will play a critical role in supporting individuals experiencing homelessness as they work toward stability and independence. Resident Support and Care Respond promptly and professionally to resident needs. Foster a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment. Assist residents with daily chores, personal care, and program activities to promote independence. Support meal preparation and serving. Maintain confidentiality in all resident interactions. Monitoring and Safety Conduct routine facility rounds to ensure safety and cleanliness. Maintain sanitary and hazard-free conditions in resident rooms, hallways, laundry areas, and restrooms. Respond appropriately to emergencies and unusual situations and complete all required documentation. Documentation and Reporting Complete daily logs, end-of-shift reports, and obtain necessary signatures. Document and report incidents, injuries, and other unusual occurrences. Share important updates with oncoming staff and the Program Manager. Administrative and Facility Support Answer telephones, take messages, and greet visitors professionally. Assist with class activities, recreation, and events. Monitor and record client self-administration of prescribed medications. Support additional duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
What You'll Bring:
Your Qualifications Education and Experience High School diploma or GED required. At least one year of experience in mental health, substance abuse treatment, or social services supporting individuals experiencing homelessness. Candidates with lived experience are encouraged to apply. If in recovery from alcohol or substance use, at least one year of continuous sobriety is required. Skills and Abilities Ability to remain calm, professional, and consistent under stress or conflict. Strong communication, patience, and supportive presence. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and database systems. Strong organizational abilities and teamwork mindset. Additional Requirements Valid California Driver's License, clean driving record, and insurability under agency policy. Successful completion of Live Scan background check. Current CPR certification preferred. Prior experience answering phones, greeting visitors, or providing administrative support is a plus. Military-experienced candidates are encouraged to apply.
