PSYCHIATRIC ASSISTANT
Psychiatric Supportive Living is a transitional & supportive housing home for individuals who are actively working on their mental health. We are located in a homelike environment in the Los Angeles area. We are looking for staff members who enjoy helping and encouraging others, and individuals who have empathy for those working through their life's challenges. The successful candidate Must have experience with acute mental health diagnoses and have worked in a transitional/supportive house. 1 Part -time position is available Guaranteed 24 hours a week Weekends Fri, Sat, Sun 10:00 pm-6:30 am, Wednesdays 2:00 pm -10:30 pm (Until July) The pay rate is based on experience and ranges from $21.00 to $24.00 per hour Psychology graduates are encouraged to apply!!
Position Purpose:
The primary responsibility of a Psychiatric Assistant is to support and engage residents in their structure and routines. The primary focus is to create effective healthy habits, communicate constant positive interventions when needed. Responsibilities include keeping the apartments organized and clean. Overnight tasks to support the AM shift and residents in their day programs. The successful candidate must oversee and understand individual diagnoses and medication orders. Daily reporting is necessary. The successful candidate must be able to take direction and be kind, compassionate, and empathetic. We're looking for someone who enjoys coming to work with a positive, can-do attitude.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED Experience in the mental health field and working in a transitional/supportive home-like environment Understanding of addictions, psychiatric diagnoses, and spectrum disorders Knowledge of supportive living skills Good verbal and written communication skills Exceptional Customer Service Skills Ability to tolerate a high-acuity workspace Organized, quick, and efficient with duties and tasks Dependability and integrity to others are necessary Team player, patience, understanding, and empathy We are an equal opportunity employer and consider all qualified applicants equally without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran status, or disability status.
