ALLIED COMMUNITY PROGRAMS FUNCTION
The Residential Counselor plays a key role in supporting and monitoring residents' individualized plans of care. They serve as positive role models, help maintain safe and clean living environments, assist with meal preparation and daily activities, provide transportation support, and encourage personal growth through active participation in training opportunities.
REPORTABILITY
Reports directly to:
Residential Supervisor Supervisory Responsibilities:
Provides support to residents of community living and supporting living arrangements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for daily care and instruction in residential homes. Documents activities according to guidelines. Provides transportation using agency vehicle. Offers individualized training, assistance, and choices to individuals as described in the Individual Program Plan. Strong communication and documentation abilities. Maintains professionalism when engaging with clients and colleagues. Ability to obtain and maintain State of CT certification for medication administration during employment. Consistent completion of work-related tasks.
CORE COMPETENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma, 21+ years of age. Clean criminal background and driving record required. A history of reliable work habits. Top consideration given to those with related experience and motivation to improve the lives of persons with/ disabilities. Successful experience working with individuals exhibiting challenging medical, physical, and behavioral needs.
Reasonable Accommodations:

We have part-time and full-time positions available, starting at $17.77 per hour. Employees may be eligible for a $0.50 hourly increase upon medical certification, which can be completed after hire as part of paid training.
