Job Purpose:
Gonzaga Debate Institute Resident Staff play a vital role in maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive residential environment for high school students attending our summer debate program. This position is for individuals who are passionate about student development, safety, and community building in a residential educational setting.
Essential Functions:

  • Supervision Monitor and supervise students in the residence halls to ensure compliance with institute rules, schedules, and behavioral expectations. 20%
  • Room Checks & Cleanliness Conduct regular room and hallway checks to ensure student rooms and shared spaces are clean, organized, and well-maintained. 20%
  • Student Accountability Enforce curfew and behavioral policies; document and report any violations or concerns to institute leadership. 20%
  • Communication Act as a liaison between the institute and parents/guardians, providing updates or addressing concerns regarding student welfare or dorm-related issues. 20%
  • Logistics Support Distribute student mail and packages, assist with organizing mealtimes, and coordinate student movements to and from dorm-related activities.
