Residential Counselor Vinfen —
Amesbury, MA Pay:
$22.00 per hour
Schedule:
Full-Time | Sunday through Thursday | 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM Make a Difference Every Day Vinfen is hiring a compassionate and dependable Residential Counselor to support adults facing mental health challenges in a residential setting in Amesbury, MA. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in careers in mental health, behavioral health, direct care, human services, psychology, social work, or community support services . As a Residential Counselor, you will provide hands-on support to Persons Served (PS) while helping them build independence, maintain stability, and achieve personal recovery goals in a safe and supportive environment. Responsibilities Provide direct care and support in a GLE/SIE residential setting Assist Persons Served with independent living skills and activities of daily living Implement Treatment Plan interventions under the direction of the Team LPHA Clinician Administer medications and maintain compliance with Medication Administration Program (MAP) policies Support Persons Served using trauma-informed, person-centered, strengths-based, and recovery-oriented approaches Provide crisis intervention and behavioral support when needed Assist with meal preparation, medication management, and household responsibilities Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable residential environment Encourage community involvement, social interaction, and healthy relationships Complete documentation, incident reports, and daily notes accurately and on time Participate in trainings, supervision, and team meetings Support evidence-based practices including Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, Housing First, WRAP, Seeking Safety, and Cognitive Behavioral interventions Perform physical site maintenance and related duties as assigned
QualificationsRequired:
High school diploma or GED Valid driver's license with a safe driving record Must be at least 21 years old Ability to pass a driving background screening
Preferred:
Associate degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or related field Experience working in mental health, behavioral health, residential care, or human services Experience supporting individuals with psychiatric or behavioral health challenges Bilingual/bicultural applicants encouraged to apply Lived experience strongly valued Skills & Experience Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to build supportive, trusting relationships Professionalism and confidentiality Strong decision-making and crisis management skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Commitment to recovery-focused and trauma-informed care Basic computer skills and documentation experience Physical Requirements This is an active position requiring the ability to: Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb stairs Lift and move at least 25 pounds Assist Persons Served with daily living activities Navigate residential environments and perform household maintenance tasks Required Certifications CPR certification within two weeks of hire First Aid certification within two weeks of hire MAP certification within 150 days of hire Benefits of Working at Vinfen Meaningful and rewarding work Opportunities for career growth in human services and mental health Supportive team environment Ongoing training and professional development Competitive hourly pay Join Vinfen and help empower individuals to live more independent and fulfilling lives in their communities.
