Job Description

Title:
Housing Rehab Specialist Supervisor:
Director of Housing Programs Status:
Part-time, hourly
Salary Range:
$38-$41/hour, approximately 20 hours per week
Typical Workweek:
Monday-Friday, flexible schedule
Location:
This position will work primarily in Beverly, with office time in Danvers The Housing Rehab Specialist will provide residential construction expertise for project management at Essex County Habitat for Humanity in our Home Repair Department. Program includes essential home repairs and home modifications for low- and moderate-income homeowners.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct on-site inspections of residential structures to identify health, safety, and code deficiencies.
  • Prepare detailed written construction specifications, cost estimates, and bid documents for repair projects. Prepare change orders as needed.
  • Secure bids, hire and manage subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and project specs.
  • Manage projects, ensure completion, and provide final inspection of completed projects.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with other staff, volunteers, and homeowners.
  • Maintain and submit all financial documentation needed for compliance with grant, insurance, and organizational requirements. Maintain a positive relationship with local municipal departments as well as other state and federal level agencies, vendors, organizations, and corporations that partner with Habitat for Humanity.
  • Other tasks as assigned or as needed for the overall success of the organization.
Skills and Experience Required:
  • Knowledge of all aspects and phases of residential renovation.
  • Knowledge of building regulations, codes, and practices.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, codes, and practices.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with contractors and members of the public.
  • Valid Massachusetts Construction Supervisor's License.
  • Patience and tact to coordinate subs and volunteers working in an occupied home.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Organizational, recordkeeping, and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Pay:
$38.00 - $41.00 per hour
