Job Description

North Suffolk is looking for an Assistant Program Director to join our team! Because of his/her life experience with addiction, the Assistant Director of Recovery on the Harbor provides expertise that professional training cannot replicate. This position will provide services that support entry into the recovery community and assist to strengthen and enhance any services a person has or is receiving. Assistant Director will work with Peer Recovery Center Director to coordinate and supervise daily operations for the center. This position is Monday - Friday 9am-5pm with some nights and weekends required. What you'll do: Participate in activities with various community stakeholders to better understand the needs of the community. Participates and makes recommendations in the recruitment, hiring, and evaluation of direct service staff according to applicable personnel policies and procedures under the direction of the Program Director. Insures the program and individual records are current, comprehensive and meet agency and funding source standards. Assist Volunteer Coordinator with all aspects of membership, including orientation, program planning, data management, and training of volunteers. Participate in community meetings/events and community related training seminars. Promote a sense of community to cultivate community stakeholders. Other duties as required. What you'll need:
Education:
High School Diploma/GED required.
Experience:
Knowledge and understanding of: addiction as a disease model and peer participatory process is preferred.
Knowledge:
Must have Recovery Coach. Knowledge of substance use disorders and recovery especially in outreach, engagement and community building. Preferred knowledge of social media and Microsoft Office.
