Group Home Supervisor 1st shift (No weekends) Summary We are seeking a House Manager to oversee the daily operations of one of our residential homes. This role is crucial in ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for our residents, while also promoting their independence and well-being. The House Manager will work closely with staff and residents to create a home-like atmosphere that aligns with our philosophy of support and empowerment. 245D licensed group homes The Group Home Supervisor is responsible for the overall management of the residents' home, ensuring that programs are implemented properly to meet the individual goals of residents at one or more residential sites. Group Home Supervisor will carry out duties and responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, applicable to federal, state, local standards, guidelines, and regulations as directed by the Program Director.DIRECT CARE 1.
Interact with residents by listening to their issues, responding to their requests and concerns, sharing ideas and humor, and participating in meals and other activities. 2. Assist residents with daily living skills, meal preparation, self-care, health care, and maintenance tasks as needed. 3. Support residents in identifying, planning for, and participating in community events and activities. 4. Assist residents in developing and maintaining friendships and family relationships through various means such as correspondence, phone contact and assisting to plan and coordinate social activities. 5. Support residents in purchasing household supplies, personal items, and groceries. 6. Support residents in identifying, securing, and utilizing transportation based on their individual preferences and needs. 7. Implement behavior support plans, intervene with residents in response to challenging behavior, and diffuse crises situations as they arise. 8. Critically evaluate the quality of support provided to the residents who receive services and continuously strive for improvement.PROGRAMMING 1.
Coordinate or assist in the development of new programs and support services. 2. Develop, implement, and monitor resident support plans or assist Direct Support Professional (DSP) in this process. 3. Coordinate the development of new services for people who are new to the program. 4. Attend annual, quarterly, and as needed consumer planning meetings or assist Quality Assurance Manager in this process. 5. Provide feedback to Program Director regarding residents' behaviors, goals and overall needs 6. Monitor the implementation and documentation of individual progress toward personal goals. 7. Ensure the completion of required charting and documentation and reports regarding progress toward meeting individual goals and outcomes (e.g., daily charts, monthlies, quarterlies). 8. Observe, monitor, and provide feedback to DSP regarding the implementation of individual support plans. 9. Monitor behavior support plans and psychotropic medications. 10. Assist Program Director in completing staff performance reviews by gathering input from peers, consumers, family members, and agency personnel as required by policy and procedures. 11. Provide coaching and feedback to staff regarding performance related issues.OFFICE WORK 1.
Answer the telephone and return phone calls promptly when messages are left. 2. Monitor and respond promptly to messages on answering machines, pagers, and voicemail. 3. Read and respond promptly to mail and e-mail. 4. Use the computer for word processing, database management, and creation of spreadsheets. 5. Effectively complete various office tasks (e.g., copying, filing, and typing).FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
1. Support DSP or residents in preparing bank transactions (e.g., deposits, transfers, withdrawals). 2. Prepare and review budget reports for residents (e.g., monthly, quarterly, and annual). 3. Ensure residents' bills are paid in a timely manner. 4. Complete and approve expense reimbursement requests made by DSP. 5. Monitors program oversight of the prudent and documentation of individual's funds as assigned responsibility. 6. Monitors, aids in coordination and communicate with Program Operations Manager the expense control, utilization and program related maintenance of the houses and vehiclesLICENSING STANDARDS
1. Maintains all employment standards, required training and licensesSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
MINIMUM:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.) with experience working with adults with developmental disabilities in a residential setting required. Qualified status under Minnesota Rule 11 must be maintained (Criminal background studies of individuals affiliated with programs licensed by DHS). Strong decision making, problem solving, and judgment skills. Ability to remain objective in dealing with employees. Must be computer literate including basic skills in the use of Word, Excel and Outlook. Effective communication skills (written and oral).Job Type:
