Job Summary The Group Supervisor Assistant works in conjunction with the Rehabilitation Therapist Supervisor to manage the programmatic and administrative functions at the Minnesota State Operated Community Services (MSOCS) vocational program in Virginia. The program offers day support services, employment placement, vocational training, customized employment services and supports for individuals with cognitive/intellectual disabilities or related conditions. This position works primarily weekdays, with occasional evenings and weekends based on the needs of the individuals supported. Also requires regular travel to other DCT program sites, as well as to attend meetings and trainings. The Group Supervisor Assistant is responsible for oversight and coordination of support plans for the individuals supported, supervision of employees, management of fiscal resources, oversight of professional and other services contracts, and maintenance of the physical environment of areas assigned. This position may provide support to Vocational Rehabilitation Services referrals and is responsible for implementing CARF accreditation standards within the program areas. Implementation of Customized Employment approaches and following 245D licensing guidelines is required. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications 1 year supervisory experience in a therapeutic, residential or corrective environment; OR 2 years lead work or professional experience in a therapeutic, residential or corrective environment providing counseling, rehabilitative patient care, or direction of client care programs. OR 3 years paraprofessional experience in a therapeutic, residential or corrective environment providing counseling, rehabilitative patient care, or direction of client care programs.
Note:
A Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Rehabilitation Therapy, Health Sciences, Behavioral Sciences or a related field may be substituted for 6 months of experience OR one year of any supervisory experience may be substituted for a maximum of 6 months of experience. OR an equivalent combination of the above Candidates must also minimally meet these required qualifications: Must have a valid Driver's License Must be 18 years of age Preferred Qualifications Our employees are dedicated to ensuring cultural responsiveness. A minimum of three (3) years of supervisory-level experience in a program providing direct support services or vocational services to individuals with disabilities or who are at least 65 years old. Multi-site supervisory/management experience. Direct lead or supervisory work experience in a vocational services program.
Experience:
Leading trainings on topics related to care for adults with disabilities. Working with individuals with active symptoms of a psychiatric diagnosis. Working with individuals with higher-level behavioral issues.
