  • Eliza Jane House New Mexico Dream Center (NMDC) is a faith-based nonprofit organization in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Our target populations are survivors of human trafficking and youth experiencing homelessness.
Eliza Jane House:
The Eliza Jane House is a program in which we support clients with understanding and grace. We know that our residents view the world from a different lens and it is our job to meet them where they are at. We work from a positive reinforcement mindset and offer support and encouragement throughout their journey. We understand that every client has their own values and goals and it is not our job to tell them how to live their life. Through case management, life skills, and empowerment; it is our mission to see our residents build a strong foundation in which they will be able to move forward with the stability needed to be successful in their independence. Residential Support Staff provide support to EJH residents during the day, evening, overnight, and weekend. A general summary of responsibilities includes providing a safe, clean environment, supporting and assisting guests residing in shelter, and documenting any safety/security concerns or rule violations. We are currently seeking someone who can work overnight/graveyard shifts, 2-4 nights a week.

Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and/or Saturday The following list of duties or tasks is not intended to be complete but to represent some of the common tasks required.
  • Empower guests and provide support and crisis intervention through trauma-informed care. Ability to provide resource information or triage questions, for individuals and families we serve and to those who call shelter to apply/ask for information. 1
  • Communicate necessary client information to day staff to keep them informed.
  • Follow EJH Guidelines, Policies, and Procedures with residents.
  • Support and assist residents with their client needs as they arise.
  • Maintain safety and security of EJH property, and report concerns to Program Manager or to the authorities.
  • Ensure the privacy and safety of residents by not confirming the identity of residents, and by not allowing anyone other than residents, staff, case workers or law enforcement on the premises. Maintain the cleanliness of EJH through performing housekeeping/organizational duties.
  • Complete EJH room checks as needed/requested. Encouraging and motivating clients to participate in ADLs
  • Perform basic maintenance as needed (ex. changing light bulbs, plunging toilets) and report any major maintenance issues to Program Director or On-Call Staff.
  • Document in shift notes at least once per shift and complete proper documentation; including but not limited to call logs, task list checks off lists, incident reports, reasonable suspicion forms, and mandated reporter documentation/reporting duties.
  • Attend regularly scheduled monthly meetings and training. ○ Must complete 100 hours of continuing training per grant fiscal year (per grant requirements)
  • Maintain positive, supportive, and respectful resident relations.

  • Must be 20 years old or older
  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent with 1 year of social work experience
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries while working with clients.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to be compassionate and firm towards clients.
  • Reliable transportation to get to your designated work site.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds independently.
  • Ability to walk, climb or descend stairs, kneel, lift, bend and twist.
  • Excellent oral communication skills that reflect responsive customer service

  • Bilingual (Spanish)

  • Must be able to pass criminal, sexual offender and motor vehicle background check ○
Note:
Any serious moving violations (DUI etc) must have been completely legally resolved and have a dissolution date of two years prior or longer.
  • Must have necessary documents to be able to work legally in the United States
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license and maintain auto insurance minimums.
  • Sick time after 60 days of work PTO and Insurance Benefits after 60 days of work

$17.00
