Job Description

Position Summary:
The House Manager is responsible for supporting the daily operations of a residential addiction treatment program. The House Manager works closely with the Program Director to ensure efficient program operations, regulatory compliance, appropriate staffing coverage, and a safe, structured environment that promotes recovery.
Duties:
  • Assist with resident intake procedures, program orientations, and room assignments upon admission.
  • Assist residents with obtaining, transferring, maintaining, and recertifying public benefits including Medicaid, SNAP, Temporary Assistance, and other entitlement programs.
  • Monitor benefit and utilization review due dates, maintain tracking systems, and coordinate with treatment team members and external agencies to ensure timely submission of required documentation.
  • Manage resident financial transactions including rent collection, SNAP benefit transactions, and distribution of Personal Needs Allowance (PNA) checks.
  • Monitor resident compliance with program expectations, assign and monitor completion of resident chores and responsibilities, and assist with resident accountability activities including rounds, room inspections, searches, drug screenings, and medication observation as assigned.
  • Maintain inventories of program supplies, coordinate mail and package distribution, and assist with facility operations and maintenance needs.
  • Complete required documentation, reports, logs, and tracking tools in accordance with agency and regulatory requirements.
  • Respond to resident concerns, assist with crisis situations, and support a safe, structured, and recovery-focused environment.
  • Maintain professional boundaries with residents, uphold resident confidentiality, and ensure compliance with agency policies, OASAS regulations, payer requirements, and applicable federal and state laws.
  • Participate in staff meetings, case conferences, training and quality improvement activities.
  • Prepare staff schedules, assist with coverage coordination for callouts and vacancies, and support on-call operations as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Proficiency with computers and electronic systems, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, electronic health records, and web-based applications.
  • Ability to successfully complete all required background checks, clearances, and trainings.
  • Experience working in a residential, behavioral health, addiction services, human services, healthcare, or direct care setting preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • A valid NYS driver's license.
  • Experience with direct care in a community residential setting with an interest in pursuing counseling experience within the field of addictions services.
  • Experience in addiction services preferred.
  • Ability to relate constructively with an adult population in a community residential setting.
