Assistant Property Manager Location:
Rego Park, NY Position Type:
On-site Job Summary We are seeking a highly organized, professional, and bilingual Assistant Property Manager to support our residential property management team at an on-site property location in Rego Park, NY . The ideal candidate will have prior experience in residential property management and a strong understanding of day-to-day building operations, tenant relations, work orders, violations, compliance, and administrative procedures. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interact directly with tenants, vendors, building staff, and management in a fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has worked in a residential property management office and is comfortable handling both administrative responsibilities and face-to-face tenant interactions. Responsibilities Serve as a primary point of contact for tenants, vendors, building staff, and visitors in person, by phone, and by email Respond to tenant inquiries and concerns professionally, efficiently, and with strong follow-up Assist with resolving tenant issues, complaints, and service requests with professionalism and tact Process, track, and follow up on work orders from intake through completion Coordinate with maintenance staff, supers, vendors, and contractors regarding building repairs and tenant service needs Maintain accurate tenant records, contracts, correspondence, legal documents, and property files Enter, update, and manage information using property management software such as Yardi and MDS Assist the Property Manager with daily building operations and administrative tasks Support violation tracking, compliance follow-up, notices, and related documentation Assist with annual meeting preparation, building notices, tenant communications, and mailings Track employee hours and assist with administrative reporting Provide professional front-office support in an on-site property management setting Help ensure a positive tenant experience through strong communication, organization, and responsiveness Requirements Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred Minimum 3 years of residential property management experience required Experience with property management software, Yardi preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook Strong customer service skills and professional phone etiquette Comfortable interacting with tenants, vendors, and staff face-to-face on a daily basis Ability to handle conflict resolution with patience, professionalism, and discretion Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail Strong follow-up skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive tenant and property information appropriately Benefits Eligible employees may participate in benefit programs, including: Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance options Select AFLAC coverage 401(k) Paid vacation after 1 year of employment Paid holidays Preferred Qualifications Prior experience working in an on-site residential property management office Familiarity with building operations, tenant notices, HPD/DOB/ECB violations, and compliance tracking Experience coordinating with supers, porters, maintenance teams, vendors, and contractors
