Resident Assistant

Job Overview Kauhale Centerville is a memory care community. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Resident Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care and support to residents in our assisted living facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for enhancing the quality of life for seniors and will play a vital role in ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This position involves working closely with residents to assist with daily activities while fostering a warm and supportive environment. Responsibilities Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Monitor and record vital signs as needed, ensuring any changes are communicated to the nursing staff. Provide companionship and engage residents in social activities to promote mental and emotional well-being. Support residents with mobility needs, including transferring them safely from one location to another. Maintain a clean and safe environment by following health and safety protocols. Document care provided and report any concerns regarding residents' health or behavior to the appropriate personnel. Participate in training sessions and staff meetings to enhance skills and knowledge related to senior care. Skills Experience in assisted living, retirement home, or long-term care settings is preferred. Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and basic medical procedures is beneficial. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with seniors and their families. Understanding of dementia care principles is a plus. Ability to drive or transport residents as needed for appointments or outings is advantageous. A background in social work or home care can enhance the effectiveness of this role. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with residents and staff members.
