Senior Residential Advisor Full‑time

  • Residential Living Manager About the Role The Senior Residential Advisor supports young adults as they develop life skills, build independence, and prepare for meaningful careers. This position plays a key role in youth development, group living supervision, behavior guidance, and residential operations. This role is well‑suited for individuals with experience in:
  • Residential advising or dormitory supervision
  • Youth development or mentoring
  • Social services or counseling support
  • Behavioral coaching
  • Community programs or transitional support
  • Working with young adults in structured residential settings You will collaborate closely with Residential Advisors, counselors, instructors, and center leadership while guiding students through daily routines, ensuring a safe and supportive living environment, and promoting the center's positive normative culture.
Your work directly affects student behavior, well‑being, safety, retention, and long‑term success. What You'll Do Student Guidance and Residential Support
  • Provide daily guidance to help students build self‑management skills and positive living habits.
  • Conduct group sessions that support social development, decision‑making, and personal growth.
  • Model, mentor, and reinforce the center's positive normative culture.
  • Identify when students need additional support and refer them to counselors as appropriate.
  • Supervise Residential Advisors assigned to the dormitory, offering coaching and feedback. Safety, Supervision, and Student Conduct
  • Patrol and monitor dormitories and surrounding areas to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Address potential or active issues professionally and promptly.
  • Ensure accountability of students and center property.
  • Report violations of ethical conduct.
  • Identify and report environmental health and safety concerns. Student Activities, Engagement, and Daily Living Skills
  • Coordinate, assist with, and lead dormitory activities, including recreation and entertainment on and off center.
  • Support students in maintaining clean and orderly dormitory conditions.
  • Help students develop independent living skills and positive community behavior.
  • Arrange student visits to counselors when needed. Documentation, Reporting, and Accountability
  • Prepare accurate daily operations reports, pass lists, logs, and other administrative documents.
  • Maintain documentation for group sessions and support CPP (Career Preparation Period) activities when assigned.
  • Requisition supplies as needed to support safety and dorm operations. Minimum Qualifications Education
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate degree in behavioral sciences preferred Experience
  • Two years of related experience in counseling, social work, rehabilitation, vocational guidance, or working with youth
  • Experience with Job Corps or similar programs preferred Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to model and promote the Career Success Standards (CSS)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer proficiency
  • Ability to enforce rules consistently and promote a supportive community atmosphere Additional Requirements
