Job Description

Position Summary The Lead Direct Support Professional (Lead DSP) provides both direct care and administrative support within a residential setting. As a peer partner to other DSPs, the Lead DSP ensures consistency, quality, and accountability in care delivery while supporting the overall functioning of the home. The Lead DSP plays a key coordinating role in facilitating, scheduling, household coordination, and communication. This is an hourly position that includes a regular shift schedule, administrative duties, and 24/7 on-call responsibilities related to scheduling only. This position does not have a supervisory role

Administrative Days:
Two (2) per week Responsibilities completed on-site or as directed by the
Residential Manager On-Call:
24/7 availability for scheduling-related issues only (not medical or emergency calls)
Compensation:
Starting rate $20 per hou r NADSP I certification $20.25 NADSP II certification $20.75 NADSP III certification $21.50 $100 weekly stipend for being on-call (for scheduling-related calls only). $25 monthly reimbursement for use of personal cell phone for scheduling purposes only (or issued a TLC work phone).
Essential Job Functions Direct Care & Oversight:
Perform all regular DSP responsibilities. Serve as a peer partner and mentor to other DSPs. Assist in ensuring that all individual care meets individual ISPs, protocols, and person-centered plans.
Training & Support:
Train and onboard new DSPs, including shadowing checklists. Implement updates to protocols, ISPs, and care plans.
Scheduling & On-Call:
Create and update staff schedules biweekly. Provide 24/7 on-call coverage for scheduling issues (no medications call, 911 calls, urgent care/hospital visits, etc.). Communicate changes effectively with the team and supervisors.
Medication & Medical Oversight:
Support the Residential Manager with the medication check-in process. Complete weekly medication audits. Ensure audits are reviewed and signed by Residential Manager. Run and schedule all provider appointments (excluding psych appointments).
Household Management:
Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of the home. Submit maintenance requests as needed. Coordinate weekly groceries/shopping for the home. Coordinate weekly check requests and ensure proper documentation. Ensure monthly fire drills are completed; submitted drills must be reviewed by the Residential Manager. Ensure vehicle checks and mileage logs are completed monthly.
Calendar & Appointments:
Coordinate and manage all appointments for individuals. Maintain monthly activity calendars focused on person-centered planning.
Additional Requirements:
Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times. Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive team environment. Be flexible and willing to adapt to changing needs. Collaborate with the Residential Manager and management team regularly. Performs other duties as assigned. This position includes all current DSP duties, along with additional responsibilities related to team support and administration as outlined above. Job Requirements/Qualifications A minimum of a High school diploma or GED Must be Eighteen years of age or older. DSP experience (preferred) Must be able to achieve NADSP certification within one year of hire Have a valid Driver's license for at least two years. Must successfully pass Physical and TB Frequently use hands and fingers to manipulate objects. Reach with arms and hands below, at waist level, and above shoulder height. Must be able to pull, push, lift, and carry at least 50 lbs. to assist in daily life skills, such as household chores, bathing, carrying groceries, physical rescue, and wheelchair assistance.
