Part-time Residential Advisor Job Description Role:
Part-time, non-exempt
Hours:
6-28 hours per week in the afternoons and evenings, weekends may be included (hours vary based on needs determined by Residential Life leadership)
Dates:
August 5 - May 25 (school year) The Residential Advisor (RA) plays a vital role in supporting the boarding community by providing supervision, mentorship, and relational presence in the residence halls. Working closely with the Residential Life team, RAs are present during evenings, weekends, and other non-academic hours to engage with students, uphold expectations, and contribute to a safe, Christ-centered environment. This part-time role is ideal for individuals who are relational, dependable, and passionate about supporting student growth outside the classroom.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise and engage with boarding students during scheduled shifts, including weekday evenings and weekends. Build meaningful, mentoring relationships with students and serve as a positive role model. Partner with boarding parents and the Residence Life team to ensure a consistent, supportive presence in the boarding houses. Guide students in their daily decisions, supporting their academic, social, and spiritual development. Enforce policies and expectations outlined in the Residence Life Handbook. Communicate effectively with Residence Life staff regarding student needs, concerns, or incidents. Integrate Biblical truth and Christian values into daily interactions with students. Maintain a safe, orderly, and clean residential environment in accordance with school procedures and policies.
