Job Title Aggie Achieve Summer Experience Residential Mentor Agency Texas A&M University Department Educational Psychology Proposed Minimum Salary $15.00 hourly Job Location College Station, Texas Job Type Temporary/Casual Staff (Fixed Term) Job Description What We Want As a Residential Mentor for Aggie ACHIEVE's Summer Experience , you'll play a hands‑on role in shaping the first steps of applicants as they explore college life. In this role, you'll mentor applicants, model positive behavior, and help them build the skills and confidence they need to thrive on campus. You'll foster a safe, fun, and supportive living environment, guide students as they adjust to college and independent living, and bring energy to key events, dinners, and community activities. $15.00/hourly

Additional Requirements and Factors:
Live in the White Creek Dorm apartments for the entire Summer Experience in a shared apartment (4-bedroom/2-bathroom unit) with up to three Aggie ACHIEVE applicants. Promote and encourage a safe and fun living environment. Plan and attend key events hosted by Aggie ACHIEVE. Support Aggie ACHIEVE applicants with adjusting to college and independent living. Planning dinners and events.
Qualifications Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED. One year of college experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with adults with intellectual disability. CPR Certified. First Aid Certified. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Ability to follow directions. Time Management, demonstrates a proactive approach to tasks and responsibilities, exhibiting strong initiative and a willingness to go beyond assigned duties. Essential Duties/Tasks Program Aide The Program Aide, under the guidance of the Aggie ACHIEVE Program Director and Program Manager, supports prospective Aggie ACHIEVE students through mentorship, skill-building, and individualized assistance. Provide peer mentor support and assist the applicant with acclimation to the Texas A&M University campus. Keep applicants on-task and engaged during independent living and social skills seminar training. Who We Are Aggie ACHIEVE at Texas A&M University is a four-year comprehensive transition program (CTP) for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) who have exited high school. Aggie ACHIEVE provides an inclusive and immersive college education and equips students for employment in the community. Aggie ACHIEVE aligns coursework, internship opportunities, and extracurricular activities with each student's academic interests and employment goals. Aggie ACHIEVE students reside in Texas A&M residence halls and have access to all campus-related activities. Aggie ACHIEVE is the first and only CTP in the State of Texas.
