Resident Assistant

Resident Assistant Duties:

• Provide direct care and support to residents in an memory care living facility
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Administer medications to residents according to prescribed schedules and procedures
• Monitor and document changes in residents' health and behavior
• Assist with meal preparation and ensure residents' dietary needs are met
• Engage residents in social activities and promote a positive and supportive environment
• Maintain a clean and safe living environment for residents
• Follow all resident rights policies and procedures

Requirements:

• Experience in caregiving, preferably in an assisted living or memory care setting
• Knowledge of dementia care techniques and strategies
• Familiarity with medication administration protocols
• Ability to provide first aid and respond to emergencies effectively
• Understanding of resident rights and the importance of maintaining their dignity and privacy
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work well as part of a team and collaborate with other staff members
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays

Preferred Skills:

• Background in social work or related field
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
