RTC and GRO Direct Care Staff Minimum Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree or above; at least 5 years of experience working in a residential childcare setting can substitute for education.
Preferred:
Licensed Child Care Administrator (LCCA) certification.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to coordinate staffing schedules to ensure appropriate staff-to-child ratios. Ability to lead, supervise, train, and support child care staff. Ability to monitor staff training logs. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to foster teamwork and manage conflict resolution effectively. Ability to monitor documentation for accuracy and compliance with TDFPS (Texas Department of Family and Protective Services) standards and internal policies.
Basic Function:
To assist the Executive Director in implementing and overseeing the Residential Treatment Center (RTC) or General Residential Operation (GRO) program. Responsibilities include monitoring compliance with HCYR policies and Licensing Standards, ensuring safety in residential cabins, and completing special projects as assigned by the Executive Director.
Note:
This position is subject to mandatory drug testing. Employment is contingent upon acceptable results from an agency-conducted drug screening.
Responsibilities & Tasks:
Immediately report any suspected abuse or neglect to the Hotline and Executive Director or designee. Meet regularly with the RTC/GRO staff to provide support and problem-solving guidance. Consult frequently with the Executive Director for input and direction on program execution. Collaborate with the Executive Director, Treatment Director, and Clinical Director to design and monitor the therapeutic integrity of the RTC/GRO program. Oversee Behavioral Support Specialist/Mentor to ensure compliance with HCYR policies, RTC/GRO program standards, and individual treatment plans within the cabins. Monitor RTC/GRO staff for adherence to policies, procedures, and treatment plans; initiate corrective or disciplinary actions in coordination with Human Resources. Participate in staff corrective action conferences as needed. Conduct regular visits to cabins and the assessment center to monitor compliance with program standards and administrative expectations. Create and manage staff schedules to maintain appropriate child-to-staff ratios and optimize staff talents; coordinate scheduling with Program Coordinators. Attend required meetings, including Leadership Team, Treatment Planning, ARD, Restraint Review, and Trigger Review Meetings. Report any actual or suspected child abuse directly to the Executive Director. Report all staff paid-time-off requests to Human Resources. Complete timely job performance reviews of RTC/GRO staff. Monitor staff training hours to ensure compliance with Licensing Standards and HCYR policies. Assist the Training Director with classroom and field training as needed. Participate in staff interviews as part of the interview team when available. Participate in the Administrator-on-Call rotation. Review all RTC/GRO Incident Reports and Progress Notes; conduct weekly staffing meetings and ensure documentation is submitted within 24 hours of events/incidents. Oversee and Approve all reports inputting into the Electronic Record System. Safely transport children using agency-provided vehicles. Fulfill professional development requirements, including CPR/First Aid and other HCYR/TDFPS/T3C-mandated trainings. Address behavior issues using HCYR and TDFPS-approved methods, including TBRI principles. Model responsible, mature behavior in all interactions; follow HCYR code of conduct and policies. 24. Work assigned schedule and adhere to Hill Country Youth Ranch's timekeeping policy Perform additional duties as assigned.
Pay:
$40,000.00 - $54,000.00 per year
