Overnight Monitor

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Overnight Monitor to ensure the safety, and well-being of guests during overnight hours. An overnight shelter worker ensures the safety, security, and cleanliness of the facility while providing compassionate support to residents during night hours. Responsibilities include monitoring guest behavior, enforcing house rules, handling crises, and completing documentation. Your proactive approach will help create a secure, nurturing atmosphere where guests feel protected and cared for throughout the night. Duties Monitor residents' activities throughout the overnight shift to ensure safety and compliance with facility policies Conduct regular visual inspections of the premises, including common areas, bedrooms, restrooms, etc. Respond promptly to resident calls or emergencies, providing crisis intervention as needed

Safety & Security:

Conduct regular walkthroughs, monitor security cameras, and ensure all doors are locked.

Crisis Intervention & De-escalation:

Manage conflicts, handle medical emergencies, and liaise with emergency services if needed.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate, detailed logs of nightly activities and incident reports.

Facility Maintenance:

Perform cleaning duties, manage laundry, and ensure common areas are orderly.

Morning Routine:

Wake residents, assign chores, and assist with breakfast setup.

Requirements Experience:

Previous experience in social services, security, or working with vulnerable populations is often preferred. Ability to perform first aid and respond appropriately to medical emergencies

Communication:

Ability to interact with guests and staff in a calm, professional, and respectful manner.

Flexibility:

Capability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Problem-Solving:

Ability to think quickly and respond effectively to emergencies.
