Job Description

Residential Support Staff (Part‑Time)
Location:
Richmond, VA 23227 About the Role We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and professional Residential Support Staff member to assist residents in a behavioral‑health setting. The ideal candidate is patient, observant, and committed to maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive environment for individuals receiving residential services. Key Responsibilities Greet new intakes, visitors, and support a welcoming environment. Assist with the intake process, including answering calls, documenting room changes, and issuing passes. Conduct routine rounds to monitor resident whereabouts and ensure safety. Support residents with daily schedules, weekend activities, and general needs throughout their stay. Ensure resident compliance with facility rules, expectations, and guidelines. Report suspected resident abuse in accordance with policy and legal requirements. Support QMHP's in the residential setting. Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, or other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress. Oversee cleanliness of the property and assist residents with cooking and cleaning tasks. Utilize PPE and follow infection‑control procedures as required. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Experience working with clients in a hospital, residential, or mental‑healthcare setting preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Effective time‑management and crisis‑intervention skills. Ability to interact with residents professionally and respectfully. Ability to maintain self‑control in volatile or hostile situations. Ability to set and maintain therapeutic limits and boundaries during and after treatment. Must be flexible with scheduling to meet facility needs. Maintain certifications in CPR/FA and be capable of performing these duties, at all times. Ability to properly use PPE as directed. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality at all times. Schedule Shift:
3pm-11pm, part-time
Pay:
$16.50 - $18.00 per hour
