Full Job Description Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Executive Director and the Residential Director, the Assistant Residential Director will assist in the daily operations of Tahoma Associates' residential programs. Supervises managers and direct care personnel and contracted consultants in the delivery of Certified Community Residential Services and Supports to Developmentally Disabled Residents. This position will train under the current Residential Director and offers upward mobility for the right person.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervises Direct Care Staff and Management in development and implementation of all documented resident care needs.
  • Maintains working knowledge of laws, regulations, and agency policies governing the delivery of services to residents.
Specific knowledge of
WAC 388-101D, WAC
388-76 and DDA Policies and Procedures required.
  • Recruit, screen, select, train/oversee and evaluate performance.
  • Identifies and provides documented feedback on the performance strengths and needs of Group Home staff at established periods and as needed.
  • Assures documentation by all staff of significant events, medical issues, activities and results of established plans, Incident and Mandatory Reporting requirements.
  • Communicates with legal representatives of Residents, DSHS, and other regulatory authorities regarding services provided.
  • Identifies, addresses, and recommends household maintenance and improvements to the Director.
  • Provides financial management of Group Home expenditures and billings.
  • Communicates issues and concerns to all staff, including the Director.
  • Advocates within the Group Home, Tahoma, and the community at large for the best interests of the residents.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director.
Position Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in management and the operations of Residential Support Programs.
  • Working knowledge of current Washington Administrative Codes (WAC) and Policies and Procedures governing the Residential programs.
  • Experience in conflict resolution
  • Detail oriented and able to multi-task
  • Able to articulate and provide examples of exemplary leadership, delegation and empathy.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; college level study preferred.
  • Able to pass Washington State Criminal Background Check.
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License and ability to clear agency insurance requirements.
  • Timely and successful completion and maintenance of all required background checks, insurance endorsements, training requirements, etc.
and prior to unsupervised access to participants as required.
Pay:
Standard Benefits Pay starting at $36 per hour Pay commensurate with experience
