Grounded in Christian values, the Life Coach builds trusting relationships, equips residents with essential life skills, and encourages personal, educational, vocational, and spiritual growth. The role combines hands-on coaching, individualized goal setting, and collaboration with the program team to help each girl transition successfully from foster care to self-sufficiency, while adhering to all Department of Human Resources (DHR) Minimum Standards, Medicaid billing requirements, and organizational policies. The Life Coach also works with TLP Extended, a Grace House program that serves girls who no longer live on campus, but still need resources and assistance as they transition out of foster care. Key Responsibilities Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating integrity, responsibility, and Christ-centered living. Support residents in setting and achieving short and long-term personal goals. Teach life skills including budgeting, time management, job readiness, meal planning, and household responsibilities. Provide guidance in educational and career planning, including connecting residents to resources and opportunities. Facilitate group sessions, workshops, and activities that promote personal growth, leadership, and spiritual development. Maintain consistent and supportive communication with residents, offering encouragement and accountability. Ensure a safe, structured, and respectful living environment in accordance with DHR Minimum Standards, organizational policies, and program procedures. Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and community partners to coordinate resources for residents. Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and reports as required by DHR, Medicaid billing protocols, and internal policy. Complete and submit Medicaid documentation in a timely and accurate manner to ensure compliance and reimbursement. Provides safe and reliable transportation for TLP residents, and equips participants with essential driving skills through driver's education instruction. Oversee and document medication administration in compliance with physician orders, DHR standards, and Medicaid guidelines Maintain compliance with all DHR (Department of Human Resources) licensing standards, policies, and procedures Accurately complete documentation such as daily logs, incident reports, medication records, and behavioral notes Maintain confidentiality of all resident information in accordance with
HIPAA, DHR
regulations, and organizations policy Participate in inspections, audits, and required trainings as mandated by DHR and the organization Communicate effectively with TLP staff and supervisors regarding residents' needs and progress. Check and respond to work emails regularly. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and planning sessions Assist with welcoming and showing hospitality to guests and visitors. Maintain current CPR and First Aid certification as required by state and agency standards Promote and uphold a safe and secure environment within the home for all residents and staff Administer basic first aid when necessary and follow emergency procedures appropriately Participate in safety drills and training as scheduled Ensure all medications are secured and administered according to policy Immediately report any incidents or concerns to appropriate staff and follow incident reporting procedures Qualifications Strong commitment to Christian faith and willingness to lead youth in spiritual development Bachelor's degree required. Social work, counseling, education, or related fields preferred. Must be at least 25 years of age Experience working with youth, preferably in foster care or at-risk populations. Strong interpersonal, mentoring, and coaching skills. Knowledge of and ability to comply with DHR Minimum Standards for residential programs. Familiarity with Medicaid service documentation and billing requirements preferred. Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and handle sensitive situations with discretion. Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed. Valid Alabama Driver License and reliable transportation.
