Job Description

The Department of Health and Human Services , Human Services Division is currently accepting applications for HHS Assistant Program Director. This is an unclassified management position that reports directly to the Deputy Director of HHS - Human Services. Consistent with HHS mission and goals, this position assists with the leadership and management of HHS Human Services with responsibility for overseeing department-wide fiscal, administrative, and business management functions. The successful candidate for this position will demonstrate the experience necessary to forge and maintain effective working relationships and partnerships with HHS Human Services staff members, other HHS Divisions, County Executive Office, Board of Supervisors, Auditor-Controller's Office, community partner organizations, and other County departments. Candidates will need to possess the following background/qualifications: Five years of increasing responsible experience in a public/environmental health and/or human service agency, including at least three years of administrative and management responsibility and the equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business, public administration, public health, health science, sociology, psychology, counseling, behavioral sciences or a related field. •Applicants receiving their degree outside the United States must submit proof of accreditation by a recognized evaluation agency. •This classification is scheduled to receive a general wage increase of 3.5% June 13, 2026. This position is unclassified management and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority. Placer County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
