Life Coach (Catalina House) The Anti-Recidivism Coalition Burbank, CA Job Details Full-time $28.84 - $31.25 an hour 17 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Vision insurance Qualifications Community engagement Teamwork Criminal Justice Driver's License Driving Data entry Typing Associate's degree Full Job Description Position Summary The Life Coach at Catalina House is a full-time, on-site professional responsible for structured case management, milestone tracking, daily resident engagement, and housing accountability within a transitional living environment serving transitional-aged youth and emerging adults. This role is elevated beyond traditional life coaching and carries direct responsibility for resident progress, documentation integrity, data capture, house structure, and collaboration with housing leadership. The Life Coach ensures that residents are progressing toward employment, education, financial stability, and permanent housing benchmarks through measurable and documented outcomes. Candidates who have been directly system-impacted are encouraged to apply. Essential Job Functions Maintain an active caseload and conduct structured weekly one-on-one case management sessions that include documented progress review, goal adjustment, and next-step action planning. Develop and complete Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) within 24 hours of resident intake. Establish, monitor, and document measurable milestones related to employment placement, income stability, savings accumulation, education enrollment, compliance requirements, and housing transition readiness. Identify barriers to progress and implement structured corrective action plans in collaboration with the Housing Manager when necessary. Provide direct linkage to employment, education, mental health, and supportive services while maintaining accountability for follow-through. Maintain 100% compliance with 24-hour documentation standards for all significant resident interactions. Update case notes daily to reflect service delivery, progress, setbacks, compliance issues, and action steps. Ensure documentation is accurate, audit-ready, and aligned with grant, regulatory, and organizational reporting requirements. Support the organization in capturing high-quality data through consistent and thorough case management practices. Participate in case review meetings and present resident progress supported by documented outcomes. Documentation is a core function of this role and directly supports funding compliance, program evaluation, and organizational accountability. Maintain consistent on-site presence during assigned shifts to ensure structure, accountability, and resident engagement. Reinforce daily house expectations, including curfew adherence, meeting attendance, employment engagement, and required programming participation. Model pro-social behavior and trauma-informed communication. Support resident onboarding, orientation, and integration into house culture. Collaborate with the Housing Manager to uphold safety standards and program integrity. Facilitate structured life skills workshops focused on employment readiness, financial literacy, independent living skills, communication, and personal responsibility. Support residents in developing savings plans and achieving financial benchmarks. Reinforce daily routines that promote discipline, time management, and long-term stability. Participate in de-escalation and crisis intervention as required. Document incidents in accordance with organizational policy. Collaborate with leadership to address safety concerns and behavioral escalations. Work collaboratively with Housing Manager, Therapist, and house staff to ensure coordinated care and consistent messaging. Attend required staff meetings, case conferences, and trainings. Develop and maintain community partnerships that enhance resident opportunities. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, or related field preferred (Associate's degree with substantial experience considered). Minimum of 2 years of experience in case management, transitional housing, or reentry services. Demonstrated understanding of barriers facing system-impacted youth and adults. Strong documentation and data management skills. Ability to maintain structure, boundaries, and accountability in a residential environment. Trauma-informed practice required. Clean driving record and insurable by ARC's carrier. Lived experience strongly valued. Requirements Must have reliable transportation and current California Driver's License with valid registration and insurance. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; drive; use hands and fingers; handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk; and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk, balance, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch. (The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Keyboard data entry required.
