Job Description

Provides administrative support for the Coding department. Professional Duties Request records via HIS, facility or provider offices as needed. Match records received with audit packets and responsible for forwarding to appropriate coder for auditing. Compare scanned records with audit listings. Create and forward member listings as needed to HIS for scanning. Distribute medical records received via fax, printed or email. Maintain discharge summary and hospital encounter logs. Distribution and return of discharge summaries, hospital encounters, dialysis and other miscellaneous coding to coding staff according to established process. Assist in preparation and retrieval of HCC Internal Medicine Project documentation. Scheduling for HCC Internal Medicine Project as needed. Assist in preparation of materials for audio conference or coding presentations. Responsible for sharing knowledge of issues with management staff. Other duties as assigned. Speak positively about your work, co-workers and Desert Oasis Healthcare and Family Hospice Care See the positive in situations and in others Avoid gossip and negativity Inform patients and co-workers of how and when to contact you under normal circumstances (phone number, email, a help line, Immediate Care, etc.) or when unforeseen issues arise Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of one year medical office experience, preferred. Proficient in computer usage including Windows based programs. Strong organizational skills and able to multi-task effectively. Able to interact effectively with all levels of internal and external customers. Motivated and able to work with minimal direction.
