About Us Creative Treatment Options (CTO) is a community-based outpatient behavioral health provider serving the Denver Metro area for over 25 years. We specialize in substance use disorder (SUD) and mental health treatment, offering a wide range of group and individual services to support individuals involved in the criminal justice system, Medicaid populations, and the broader community. We are expanding our peer support services and are seeking a Peer Recovery Coach to join our team and play a key role in supporting client engagement, recovery, and long-term success. Position Overview The Peer Recovery Coach uses their lived experience with substance use and/or mental health recovery to provide support, mentorship, and advocacy for clients. This role focuses on building trust, increasing engagement in treatment, and helping clients navigate barriers to recovery. This position may be full-time or part-time , with flexible scheduling options including evenings and some weekend availability. Key Responsibilities Provide peer-based recovery support to clients in individual and group settings Build supportive, strengths-based relationships rooted in lived experience Assist clients in developing recovery goals and maintaining motivation Support client engagement in treatment services (groups, intakes, case management, etc.) Help new clients fill out their intake paperwork and navigate the intake process to start in services at CTO Help clients navigate systems including probation, courts, housing, employment, and healthcare Collaborate with clinical staff, case managers, and external partners Participate in outreach efforts (e.g., community events, court programs, resource connections) Maintain accurate and timely documentation in our EHR Uphold ethical boundaries and confidentiality standards Other duties as necessary/as assigned Qualifications Lived experience in recovery from substance use and/or mental health challenges Minimum of 1 year in stable recovery Certified Peer Recovery Coach Ability to relate to individuals involved in the criminal justice system and high-risk populations Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Basic computer skills and ability to learn electronic health records Preferred Qualifications COPA (Certified Addiction Peer Advocate) certification or working toward eligibility Experience working in behavioral health, SUD treatment, or community-based services Familiarity with Medicaid populations and/or probation/court systems Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly pay (based on experience and certification status) Opportunities for professional development and certification support Flexible scheduling 4-day workweek (three-day weekends most weeks) Paid time off (after 1 year of full time employment) Health insurance options through Kaiser Permanente Growth Opportunities This role is an excellent stepping stone for individuals pursuing careers in: Behavioral health Counseling or social work Substance use treatment Criminal justice We have supported many team members in advancing their education, certifications, and careers within CTO. Pay:
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour
