Job DescriptionSchedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM, with occasional evening and weekend work, including driving excursions.
Position SummaryThe Community Life Assistant supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of meaningful life enrichment programs designed to meet the individual needs and interests of Independent Living residents. This role helps provide group and one-on-one activities that promote creative, physical, spiritual, social, and mental well-being while fostering resident engagement and community connections.
About the RoleWork in a fast-paced Independent Living environment with varied daily responsibilitiesBuild positive relationships with residents, vendors, entertainers, volunteers, and team membersSupport life enrichment programs, special events, and community engagement activitiesAssist with administrative tasks, scheduling, coordination, reporting, and clerical supportCoordinate small groups based on resident interests and provide resources to encourage participationDrive residents on scenic rides, outings, and community excursions as neededEssential DutiesAssist in writing, designing, distributing, and evaluating the monthly life enrichment calendarInventory, purchase, and stock supplies and equipment as neededDrive the community bus for scenic rides and large or small group outingsObserve and communicate resident needs, interests, and responses to programs and activities with appropriate staffCompile data for reporting purposes and perform various clerical and administrative tasksServe on committees as assignedProvide support to the Director with functions such as timecard administration, care conferences, and budget complianceServe as Director in the Director's absence when designatedPerform other duties as assignedWhat We're Looking ForStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple prioritiesCreativity, flexibility, and strong attention to detailProficiency with computer applications, including word processing, research, and editingExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPositive, service-oriented approach when working with older adults and community partnersJoin a collaborative team dedicated to creating meaningful experiences and supporting a vibrant Independent Living community.
QualificationsBasic Qualifications & ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED. Activity Professional coursework preferred.1-2 years experience in recreational programming.
Colorado drivers license in good standing.
Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
Must possess excellent customer service skills.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements Moderate physical effort required by handling objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
Sits, stands, bends and moves intermittently during working hours.
Is subject to frequent interruptions.
Interacts with residents, family members, visitors frequently.
