Full Job Description Description:
The Recovery Coach is responsible for working collaboratively with staff to bridge the chasm between professional treatment in MAAS's clinical setting and sustainable recovery within each client's natural environment. He/she will act as a role model and strategically use one's own story to enhance the recovery resolve of others. He/she will develop and facilitate the implementation and ongoing development of individual and group recovery support services. He/she will support individuals in exploring, identifying and connecting with community and natural resources and supports while transitioning to productive community members. Will perform basic office duties and be required to provide outreach and transportation as assigned.
Requirements:
Certificate of completion from an accredited Recovery Coach program. Lived experience of mental health/psychiatric symptoms and/or in recovery from substance use disorder. Familiarity with area recovery community, services and resources. Experience with group education and/or facilitation. Understanding of and ability to maintain appropriate boundaries. Bilingual (English- Spanish) preferred. Evidence of knowledge of the dynamics of chemical dependency rehabilitation, the challenges associated with MAT services, the best practices available to the chemically dependent, community resources and appreciation of recovery coaching and self-help groups. Must demonstrate appreciation and willingness to develop continuing skills towards multicultural competency within a behavioral health setting. Must demonstrate good emotional stability, maturity, warmth and openness. General office and basic computer experience a Plus. Driver's license and motor vehicle required.
