Assumes the responsibility of helping to find effective ways to prevent and resolve school truancy related issues that significantly interfere with a student's education and serves as assistant to social service director.Requirements:
Educational Level:
Minimum of an Associate's Degree or 2 years of related occupational experience.Proficiency Skills:
Written and oral communication skills. Ability to deal with multiple tasks, computer competence, organizational and interpersonal skills. social work/case management experience preferred.Personal Skills:
Pleasant personality, cooperative attitude, physical skills and stamina to perform essential duties.Salary:

Days. 1. Maintains a pattern of prompt and regular attendance. Number of annual absences to date: 2. Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in the use of internet and email as applicable to job responsibilities. 3. Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in the use of other computer applications as applicable to job responsibilities. 4. Demonstrates appropriate verbal, written and telephone communication skills. 5. Acts in a professional manner and maintains a professional attitude towards the public and colleagues; adheres to cultural diversity guidelines, and exhibits the fundamentals of good public/customer service. 6. Complies with school, system, state and federal regulations and policies, including the PSC Code of Ethics, as related to job requirements. 7. Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information and material; adheres to chain of command. 8. Maintains a professional appearance as appropriate for job responsibilities. 9. Shows initiative and assumes responsibility for all aspects of job responsibilities; performs routine duties and tasks with little or no direct supervision. 10. Exhibits time on task and a flexible, cooperative, progressive and hardworking attitude and style. 11. Serves as social services assistant. 12. Serves on community committees to coordinate truancy prevention. 13. Works in collaboration with Law Enforcement, Department of Family and Children Services, and the Court System to enforce school attendance. 14. Makes referrals and complaints to the Court System, the Department of Juvenile Justice or to the Department of Family and children Serves when appropriate. 15. Performs case work services as appropriate for individual students and their parents/guardians who are referred by the student's school in order to correct attendance related issues. 16. Performs home visits for the purpose of conferring with parents and gathering helpful information on a student's home environment as appropriate. 17. Consults and collaborates, when necessary, with administrators, guidance counselors, teachers, school nurses or outside agencies in gathering and giving information on a case, and in establishing and planning of respective roles in the modification of the student's problematic behavior. 18. Gives appropriate feedback to the referring personnel as to the status of the case in a timely manner. 19. Travels to homes, offices, and schools. 20. Works flexible hours when necessary. 21. Knowledge of specific rules, laws and policies as applicable to investigations. 22. Personal safety precautions when interfacing with hostile individuals and/or when entering unfamiliar environment. 23. Ability to perform routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities. 24. All other duties as assigned by the supervisor. 25. Enhances the climate of the building and the morale of colleagues. 26. Demonstrates loyalty to the school system and administration. 27.
