Regional Care Group Position Purpose:
The Prenatal Life Coach coordinates and implements systems for assuring proper prenatal and postnatal service delivery to expectant mothers. The Prenatal Life Coach is also is responsible to support goal setting, personal growth and behavior modification for expectant mothers who are at risk. The Prenatal Life Coach partners with management and site staff to effectively mitigate identified health risks, and to promote the health and wellbeing of expectant mothers.
Scope of Authority/Responsibility:
The Prenatal Life Coach reports to the Director of Health Services. In situations where the health risks occur such as outbreak of infectious disease, the Prenatal Life Coach is responsible to assist the Head Start executive staff to assess both the risk and plan to eliminate or manage the risk, and seek any assistance necessary from community professionals to assist in that effort. This position is authorized to make decisions within the areas defined in this job description, and to work through the Director of Health Services on any issue that involves changes to policy, procedure, precedent or regulation also may require action by the VP of Head Start, the Parent Policy Council and the Geminus Board.
Minimum Hiring Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, Health, or related field required. Must complete agency funded Doula certification within eighteen (18) months of hire.
Experience:
Two years experience health advocacy/case management in the health field, preferably in the area of pre- and postnatal service delivery. Spanish speaking preferred. Doula or midwifery experiences, a plus.
Pay Range:
$20.87 - $26.09 Hourly Geminus Head Start offers a competitive salary, and an outstanding comprehensive benefits package.
