Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Life Coach to assist our residents with the development and oversight of planning, scheduling and coordinating activities and classes. The ideal candidate will have experience with the special needs community or a caregiving environment, behavior management and direct support. They will also be committed to fostering independence and improving the quality of life for those they assist. •The shift we are fulfilling is 12:30pm-8:30pm and weekends on a rotating shift. Responsibilities Assist in planning, scheduling and conducting activities and classes that provide physical, intellectual, social, vocational, emotional and spiritual opportunities for the residents. Support residents in cottage environment in areas such as activities of daily living and roommate etiquette. Communicate effectively with residents, managers and other co-workers. Promote resident independence while also providing appropriate levels of support. Complete notes and document resident behavior and progress in the applicable programs. Requirements Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Background in special education is a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents and team members. Experience in data collection for noting residents progress is beneficial. Must be able to pass a background check. Must be able to pass a drug test.
