Life Enrichment Assistant - Part Time 3935 Sunnyside Drive, Harrisonburg, VA 22801 Part-time Part-time Life Enrichment Assistant Starting pay will vary based on job-related skills, experience, and qualifications Position Summary The Life Enrichment Assistant enhances the quality of life for residents by providing engaging recreational, social, sensory, and wellness programs. This role supports residents of varying physical and cognitive abilities through both group activities and individualized interactions, helping promote meaningful connections, independence, and overall well-being. Key Responsibilities Assist in planning, organizing, and leading recreational and enrichment activities for residents. Provide one-on-one engagement tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and care plan goals. Encourage resident participation and provide transportation to activities as needed. Welcome new residents and help them become familiar with community programs and services. Document resident attendance, participation, and interactions accurately. Prepare activity spaces, equipment, and supplies for programs and events. Maintain a clean, organized activities area. Build positive relationships with residents, families, volunteers, and team members. Observe and report changes in resident behavior, health, or well-being to the Life Enrichment Coordinator. Support special events, outings, evening programs, and rotating weekend activities. Operate community vehicles for resident outings with appropriate training and approval. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Experience working with older adults, long-term care, or memory care preferred. Compassionate, patient, energetic, and creative approach to resident engagement. Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively with individuals of varying physical and cognitive abilities. CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain certification. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly and occasionally more. Availability to work flexible schedules, including some evenings, weekends, and special events. Why Join Us?
