Job Description
at Turning Point Center of Chittenden County in Burlington, Vermont, United States Job Description Direct Support & Coaching
- Provide onsite peer recovery coaching to guests at the Daystation (12-5pm) and Waystation (5-8pm).
- Guide participants in identifying goals, exploring recovery pathways, and developing wellness plans.
- Support individuals in navigating recovery systems, treatment options, and community resources. Group Facilitation
- Facilitate peer-led recovery meetings and groups onsite.
- Ensure meetings are inclusive, recovery-informed, and aligned with program expectations. Staff Support & Training
- Provide consultation, training, and technical assistance to COTS staff on recovery, harm reduction, boundaries, and engagement.
- Share recovery-informed practices and support staff responding to guest needs. Overdose Prevention & Harm Reduction
- Provide guidance and education on overdose prevention and safer-use practices.
- Support distribution of naloxone and other harm reduction materials in collaboration with partners.
- Assist staff in responding to substance-related crises using trauma- and recovery-informed approaches. Qualifications
- Lived experience with recovery; two years sustained recovery preferred.
- Peer Recovery Coach certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Experience with harm reduction, motivational interviewing, or trauma-informed care preferred.
- Strong communication, de-escalation, and crisis response skills.
- Ability to maintain boundaries and work collaboratively with COTS staff.
- Valid Driver's License; reliable transportation and current insurance coverage. Documentation & Communication
- Document coaching interactions in accordance with program standards.
- Maintain communication with TPCCC staff and supervisors to coordinate care and ensure participant safety. Benefits
