Life Enrichment Specialist Luther Manor - 3.4 Wauwatosa, WI Job Details 1 day ago Benefits Free parking Tuition reimbursement Referral program Qualifications Record keeping Resident's rights Volunteer management Regulatory compliance Working with geriatric patients Music therapy Task prioritization Organizational skills Cross-functional collaboration Patient transport Communication skills Geriatrics Entry level Cross-functional communication Educational program management Full Job Description Luther Manor is seeking a Life Enrichment Specialist with Music Therapy being a bonus 1st Shift (3 days a week which includes 1 Saturday a month) As a Life Enrichment Specialist, you will: plan, organize and implement a variety of educational and recreational programs with the intent of fostering independence of the resident regarding their physical, mental, social and emotional needs.
Essential Job Functions :
Coordinates and/or conducts programs for residents that are educational, recreational, and social. ?Conducts group programs and one-on-one visits. ?Organizes and executes tours on and off campus for residents as well as instructs and supervises volunteers involved. Keep current and proper records of resident involvement and response. Provide residents encouragement and cueing to attend Life Enrichment opportunities offered. Coordinate and assign volunteer interaction as appropriate. Promote an environment of open communication between co-workers/multi-disciplinary team. Follows state and federal regulations, as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Human Resources Manual, and Resident Bill of Rights, and adheres to safety rules. ?Reports potential/actual safety hazards to supervisors and/or Director of Safety and Security immediately. Other duties as assigned.? ??Experience and/or education in programming, organizing and working with older adults. ?Clear communication skills both verbal and written, as well as tact and courtesy when working with various levels/capabilities of residents and their families and friends. ?Ability to keep accurate and clear records according to Luther Manor and HFS 83. ?Assist in the transfer and transportation of residents with the average resident weight of 165 pounds. ?Use a team approach with all staff and departments. ?Must function independently; have flexibility, and the ability to work effectively with all staff, residents and families. ?Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends in accordance with resident needs and desires. ?Ability to prioritize and be organized.
