The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for youth development, and experience in social work, law enforcement, education or related fields. Your energetic approach will foster positive relationships with community partners to create impactful programs that promote safety, growth, and resilience among young people. The Youth Services Manager is responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive Positive Youth Development and Life Skills programming aimed at local youth and their families. This role balances administrative duties , such as grant application, management and reporting, with community-facing work , including school partnerships and volunteer coordination. Key Responsibilities 1.
Program Development & Management Recreational Programming:
Design and oversee diverse recreational activities that promotes positive social interaction and engagement.Prevention Programming:
Develop evidence-based initiatives focused on youth substance abuse prevention and positive decision-making.Evaluation:
Establish metrics to track program participation and impact, ensuring high-quality service delivery.Staff Management:
Provide oversight for Youth Services staff. 2.Financial Stewardship & Grants Grant Writing:
Identify, research, and apply for local, state, and federal funding opportunities.Compliance:
Manage existing grants, ensuring all funds are used according to grant stipulations and that reporting deadlines are met.Budgeting:
Maintain the departmental budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources. Strong finance skills needed to process program specific cash receipts and request funding through purchase requisitions. 3.Community & School Relations Educational Partnerships:
Act as the primary liaison with local schools to align programming with student needs and academic calendars.Outreach:
Represent the organization at community events and meetings to advocate for youth interests. 4.Volunteer Coordination Opportunities:
Create and manage meaningful volunteer roles specifically designed for local youth to encourage civic engagement.Supervision:
Recruit, train, and supervise adult and youth volunteers. Skills Proven experience in supervising teens. Skilled in conflict management techniques to de-escalate tense situations effectively. Experience conducting motivational interviewing within the job bank framework. Familiarity with law enforcement procedures and protocols relevant to juvenile justice. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations including youth, families, staff, and community partners. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.Required Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in social work, Human Services, Education, Public Administration, or a related field.Experience:
Minimum of 3 years in youth programming or non-profit management.Technical Skills:
Proven track record in grant writing and budget management.Soft Skills:
Exceptional communication, public speaking, and the ability to build rapport with diverse age groups.Pay:
