Job Description

Department College of Medicine, Lee Health Family Medicine Residency Program Responsibilities Serves as the administrative leader for the Lee Health Family Medicine Residency at Gulf Coast Medical Center, in Fort Myers, Florida. Working closely with the program director to manage operations and finances. This role requires a thorough understanding of national accreditation policies and the ability to make independent decisions. Responsibilities include program planning, project management, recruiting, policy creation, database management, communication with stakeholders, and handling internal and external relations. The Program Manager is essential for the smooth operation of the training programs and serves as a key source of information and support for learners, faculty, and administrative staff. Executes complex, long-range institutional and program activities with minimal support or supervision. Partners with program directors on management challenges, assists with developing and implementing improvements that provide measurable impact on operational effectiveness. Develops and manages program-level goals and objectives following college, University and state policy. Serves as liaison between various stakeholders and tracks program data for program evaluation and policy compliance. Stays up to date on policy changes, tracks trends in policy and accreditation expectations across institution, state and federal levels. Manages trainee rotation schedules, monitors work hour logs and tracks moonlighting activities of residents/fellows and ensures policy compliance. Ensures compliance with training goals and budget. Manages staff hiring, promotion, and performance appraisals. With minimal support, makes hiring, promotion, and salary decisions. Provides performance appraisals for staff and determines need for remediation and/or disciplinary action. Serves as staff member on multiple committees, sends calendar invites and materials, records and disseminates minutes and creates and coordinates action plans as needed. Maintains record of financial data for recurring reports, assists with the creation and management of the GME budget and monitors program operation allocations and expenses to make recommendations to program director as needed. Estimates Medicare allotment for residents/fellows, manages reimbursements and vendor payments, and serves as program expert on matters of travel/expense reimbursement, budget control reports and other accounting activity. Develops program-specific fundraising strategies and works with Program Director on implementation. Maintains documentation pertaining to trainee and graduate status, credentialing, board eligibility, and licensure requirements. Drafts verification forms and recommendation letters, coordinates development and completion of formative, summative, semi-annual, and final evaluations of the residents/fellows. Analyzes evaluation data and assists with program evaluations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree and four years of experience related to health and human services; or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to eight years. (
Note:
post-high school education may substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.) Must obtain certification with Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education (c-TAGME) within 36 months of hire. Valid State of Florida Driver's License, or the ability to obtain one prior to hire. Helpful This position supports Graduate Medical Education (GME) within the Florida State University (FSU) College of Medicine, in collaboration with Lee Health. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of all onboarding requirements as outlined by both FSU and Lee Health. Each organization manages its onboarding process independently and will provide separate instructions and documentation. These processes may include, but are not limited to, background screening, drug testing, completion of onboarding documentation, participation in orientation sessions, and any role-specific training or clearances required by Lee Health.
