Job Description

Unit Director Davenport, IA From $20 an hour - Full-time From $20 an hour - Full-time
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrate ability to write complete, thorough member assessments, quality assured program services, provide consistent feedback, role modeling and direction to employees. Must ensure member developmental progress, communicate with interdisciplinary team members, direct program development and implementation and assist with member transportation. Must be able to lift a minimum of fifty pounds and provide behavioral intervention as needed. Must possess a valid driver's license, meet insurability guidelines and have access to a fully functional, properly licensed and insured motor vehicle.
FUNCTION
Supervise member programs. This includes program implementation, observation, and teaching, assisting and instructing with program writing, data collection, and facilitating programmatic adaptation. Coordinate dietary, medical, day program and other services.
SCOPE:
Although primarily responsible for member programming, the Unit Director provides assistance to the Program Director in the management of day-to-day operations. This includes; communication with day program providers(s); coordinating staffing; scheduling and/or attending member medical, dental and/or psychiatric appointments; reporting site/maintenance needs; dietary issues, staff scheduling; and staff orientation and training. The Unit Director is a leadership position which supports and reinforces the provision of services consistent with member need, contemporary industry and licensing standards and company philosophy. As part of the management team, the Unit Director participates in a professional on-call schedule and works a flexible schedule consistent with service, staff and member need. This includes the direct provision of services to members.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Teach, direct and assist employees with writing, implementing and evaluating member programs. 2. Maintain first-hand knowledge of member characteristics and needs. 3. Provide consistent, effective leadership to employees regarding program development, implementation, behavioral intervention and compliance with company policies and procedures. 4. Handle all member, employee and company information in a discreet, professional manner. 5. Communicate openly with management regarding member, employee or services issues, problems or concerns. 6. Communicate and interact with employees and members in a manner that promotes a harmonious work atmosphere and a positive, healthy, therapeutic living environment. 7. Participate in and support a management system that seeks to provide high quality services, which comply with all state rules, regulations and requirements. 8. Other duties and responsibilities deemed necessary by service management. Transport members on a daily basis as needed for appointments, activities, community access, etc.
